In a recognition ceremony held under the patronage of HRH Shaikha Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of the King of Bahrain, and Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Women, the Bahrain Businesswomen's Society has honoured the Arab Open University -Bahrain (AOU) The honour certificate comes to recognizes AOU's corporate responsibility and significant contributions to the civil society in the field of information technology. The recognition ceremony was held Sunday morning on May 24, 2009, and it highlighted AOU's role in administering the e-Learning Channel in cooperation with the Women Gateway. In addition to this honour certificate, AOU has also received two national and regional awards in the field of e-learning.
